The Ante Bet in Casino War
Casino War is played with two players only, the player and the dealer. In the game of Casino War, the first bet which must be placed is the Ante. Here the player is basically betting on the chance that the card drawn for him is higher than the card drawn for the dealer. If this is the case then the player wins the hand and usually is paid back the value of his bet plus the imaginary value of the Dealers bet. In other words if the player bet $5 and his card is higher than the dealers, then he wins $10, his $5 bet plus another $5.
The Casino War Tie Bet
The other bet that a player can choose to place at the beginning of the game is called the Tie Bet. Here the player is betting on the chance of the two cards dealt being the same numerical value. If this is the case then he wins his bet back and the value of the bet again. If he loses a Tie bet i.e. the cards do not tie, then the player loses his bet at its value.
The Raise Bet or Got To War Bet
The third and final type of bet that can be played in the game of Casino War is the Raise bet which is sometimes called the "Go to War" bet. If the two initial cards drawn are the same value, then the player has the choice of either surrendering where he loses half his initial bet and a new round can begin or he can go to war. By going to War, the player has to place an additional bet which is equal in value to his first bet. The player is betting on the chance of the new card being higher than the dealer's card. The dealer burns three cards and the fourth card that is turned is the determining card. Most Casino War games allow a limitless number of Raise bets if there are ties. But, it is important to remember that if the player loses a Raise bet, he loses his first bet and any subsequent bets. If he wins a Raise bet, he only wins the value of the raised bet and not of all of the bets he has placed during the game.
