Casino War Online: An Old Game with a New Technology
Casino War is one of a few new casino games that have become popular over the past few years. It is based on an old and popular children's game and with some conversions and betting systems, has become a popular casino game too!
Playing Casino War Online
First, you need to place a bet by clicking on the chips. To change your bet or remove chips from the bet, you click on the right side of the mouse.
Then click the Deal button to begin your game.
Both the dealer and the player draw cards. If your card is higher than the dealer's, you win even money on your bet and that round is finished. If the dealer’s card is higher than your's, you lose your bet and the round is over. To play again, click on New Game.
If you and the dealer draw equal cards, you can surrender and lose half your bet (click Surrender) or go to war (click War).
Go to War Casino Style
To go to war, you need to raise your wager by the amount equal to your original bet. The dealer will then deal three cards faced-down and draw one card faced-up for each of you. If your card beats or equals the dealer’s, you win even money (1 to 1) on the raise; plus the original bet is returned to you. If the dealer’s card is higher, you lose both the original bet and your subsequent raise.
The Casino War Tie Bet
You can also bet for a tie bet. To place a tie bet, click on the tie bet area in the middle of the screen. Click on another chip to add a different amount to the tie bet. Remove chips by right-clicking on the tie bet area.
If your first card and the dealer’s first cards are equal, you win 10 to 1 on your tie bet. Great odds, but not very likely!
The player who gets all the cards is the winner. In one variation, a set number of ties won will decide on the winner.
How to Play Casino War
You make a wager, usually $1 - $5. The dealer gives you one card face up and gives himself one card up. If your card is higher than the dealer's card, you win. If it's not, you lose, it’s that simple. The casino has absolutely no advantage on this portion of the game and, as you might imagine, the battles or wars are about as interesting. If you like playing rocks-paper-scissors for kicks, Casino War could be your game.
Tips for Winning at Casino War
The best strategy is to never surrender but always go to war. Surrendering gives the casino a big 3.7% advantage. Going to war reduces this to a more realistic 2.88%. And a quick reminder, never ever take the tie proposition!
Next time you are at the computer or in the casino, try Casino War!
